The two photos below were taken near the petroglyphs pictured above, and appear to be grinding slicks. In the photo on the right you can see what looks like two smaller grinding areas within the main slick. |
The "rock cairns" below seem to be part of an alignment along the crest of the ridge above the main rock art site.

A few years ago I was hiking with an archaeologist and we came across a similar grouping of rocks as the ones pictured below. His interpretation at that time was that it might be a possible ceremonial or prayer circle. It is difficult to tell in the pictures below, but the rocks below are arranged in an oval pattern with openings at each end of the long axis pointing almost directly north / south (left and middle photo) and openings on the short sides pointing in an east / west direction (right photo). |
